North Hempstead, NY- Councilwoman Russell visited Drexel Elementary school where special guests Hip Hop Heals came and entertained the children. Hip Hop Heals is a progressive entity formed by Lauren Collins in 2006 with the purpose of providing a variety of therapeutic interventions through hip hop music. HHH is comprised of 2 foundational programs: the Hip Hop Heals Curriculum and Hip Hop Heals Most DEAFinitely; both aim to create an expressive environment through which individual participants gain confidence and a better understanding of self. The organization came taught the children some moves and taught the kids how to make healthy dietary choices in a fun way.
