Councilwoman Russell was invited by the Parent Leadership Initiative of Long Island to participate in its “Local Government Panel discussion”. PLI (Parent Leadership Initiative) is a non-profit organization that provides skills, training and resources for civic engagement. By inviting The Councilwoman and other elected officials to this panel discussion it created the introduction and opportunity for its participants to begin advocating for their individual and community needs.
