On this day Councilwoman Russell celebrated the work of Tonya L. Cantlo, the President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc Nassau Alumnae Chapter. She has pridefully served as the President for four years. Tonya has many notable accomplishments as President, some including increasing the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Scholarship by $5,000, welcoming 31 new members, and distinguishing the Delta Thanksgiving Day Community Service. She has also received national recognition and awards like the National Social Action Award from the 2017 53rd National Convention, and the Exemplary Economic Development Award from the 2018 Eastern Regional Conference.
