Young residents from all over the Town of North Hempstead often join the Town Outreach Team for a Mock Town Board meeting where they gain an understanding of our Town history, what it is like to be an elected official, how laws are created, and how the decisions they make affect others.
The program often tailored to the current lesson plan (the environment, government, history, community building, etc.) is a wonderful hand's on lesson for young participants. On this day Council-member's (From Left to Right) Viviana Russell, Town Clerk Wayne Wink, Dina Di Giorgio, and Peter Zuckerman hosted a Girl Scouts Troop 425, 434, 436, 439, 451 and 455 ranging from Brownies to Cadettes from Port Washington.
