All week the Town of North Hempstead and Councilwoman Russell were able to celebrate Earth Day with the students of Cherry Lane Elementary School, Drexel Avenue Elementary School, and Park Avenue Elementary School. This celebration entailed educating the children on the three R’s; Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, as well as instilling the importance of environmental responsibility. The schools were given trees to plant in order to positively contribute to the environment.
It is vital we teach our youth how to live sustain-ably, by reducing their carbon footprint, and respecting the planet to better their own lives and the future generations. Remember to turn off the lights when you leave a room and keep our planet safe!
