Councilwoman Viviana Russell, Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth, and Nassau County Legislator Siela Bynoe, along with several other organizations with in the New Cassel community host its 34th annual “National Night Out “Against Crime” rally, which featured local residents, Westbury community leaders, and elected officials. The event kicked off with a parade at 5:30 pm which began at The Salvation Army on Prospect and traveled down to Martin “Bunky” Reid Park where at 6:00 pm the festivities and the fun began. Residents poured into the gates with smiling faces, excited to share this experience yet another year with one another. New and old vendors fellowshipped with the residents and gave them useful information that can help improve their everyday lives. There were games, food and giveaways from businesses around the community. Applebee’s and Target are the main sponsors for this year’s event with support from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority – Pi Pi Omega Chapter, the Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County, and North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center. Local businesses and organizations in the community and in the surrounding areas have a presence at the event as well.
